Common questions
Does Stillkeys need Full Access?
No. Everything essential works without it. Haptics, custom sounds, copy and paste and syncing between devices need Full Access. Without it, iOS does not let a keyboard reach the internet.
Why does the iOS keyboard appear sometimes?
In password and phone number fields and in some apps, iOS always uses its own keyboard. This applies to every third-party keyboard.
Why can’t Stillkeys select text or take dictation?
iOS does not let any third-party keyboard select text or use the microphone. You move the cursor with the space bar, with a letter or with the arrow keys of the editing bar.
What happens after the 30 days?
Without buying, Stillkeys keeps typing like the iOS keyboard: with suggestions, autocorrect, swipe typing and emoji. Swipe characters, dragging ⌫, the number row, snippets and the other features need the purchase; your settings stay saved. Nothing renews automatically.
How do I get the purchase onto a new device?
With the same Apple Account: open Stillkeys, tap “See the Full Version”, go to the last page and tap “Restore Purchases”. With Family Sharing, the purchase covers up to six people.
How do I delete what the keyboard has learned?
In the keyboard, tap the gear, then “Privacy” and “Learned”. There you delete single words or everything. Deleting the app removes everything.
How can I check that Stillkeys sends nothing?
In iOS Settings, under “Privacy & Security”, turn on the “App Privacy Report”. There iOS shows which app connects when.
How do I switch languages?
Swipe sideways on the space bar. You add more languages and layouts in the keyboard: the gear, then “Keyboards and Languages”.
